Easy way to find Epidural Space

Data Collecting

MediPic records epidural anesthesia during the process and passes it through the algorithm filter. Thus, it contributes to the next operation and makes the researches available to the researcher clinicians.

Instant Support And Easy Operation

MediPic provides immediate support to the anesthesiologist with the data he understands and understands during the operation. During the operation, the anesthetist using MediPic either continues with the old method (LOR) or enters the patient's epidural cavity with MediPic orientations. In this way, the operation increases the success rate by 9 times.

Security

According to the research, 100 thousand people are exposed to various complications every year because they have epidural anesthesia. MediPic instantly detects where the needle is and activates the self-warning mechanism if necessary. An anesthesiologist using MediPic gives his patient a technological confidence.

Medipic is a medical device research, development and production company. Our main focus is on Epidural Anesthesia. The active device is the MediPic epidural anesthesia guide kit. It increases the success rate of epidural anesthesia 9 times in all operations under the waist and helps to keep the operation safe. Epidural anesthesia, which is a general anesthetic management, is commonly used for all surgeries that are known at birth but which cover the waist. In addition, pets can be used in all operations under the back of animals such as horses and cows. This method is based on the experience and dexterity of the anesthesia doctors. The MediPic Device carries this method to a digital environment and provides a reference range to the doctor with a decision support mechanism. In this way; It is planned to minimize the risk of complications and paralysis and to increase the use of epidural anesthesia in operations and to benefit from more cases.

What is epidural anesthesia? Epidural anesthesia is a regional anesthesia that blocks pain in a particular region of the body. The goal of an epidural is to provide analgesia, or pain relief, rather than anesthesia, which leads to total lack of feeling. Epidurals block the nerve impulses from the lower spinal segments. This results in decreased sensation in the lower half of the body. Epidural anesthesia is the most popular method of pain relief during labor. Also it is a common method used for pregnant women to reduce pain at birth. However, this method also has negative effects on their health. The traditional interspinous leveling methods (LOR) and the selection of the injection part are carried out by hand examination of the parts of the anesthetist with anatomic markings. Some patients may have problems, and therefore the position of the needle during the passage of the needle into the epidural space is essential to provide precise information on the applied pressure and distance taken. The aim is to provide real-time assistance or guidance with sensors during the passage of the needle into the epidural space. We hope MediPic will be easy way to find epidural space for pregnant women and other patients.

We developed the commercial prototype of MediPic and obtain the related certificates support from Tübitak is a technology fund of turkish government. Afterwards, we plan to introduce our product in various platforms within the framework of industry support funds, Horizon 2020 and EU Projects and plan to receive support fund for production. At the same time, firstly we aim to accelerate the entry of our products into the China, US, EU market by establishing commercial partnerships with companies with distribution, marketing and production network in the field of anesthesia, reanimation, algology, hematology, urology and orthopedics.

Back pain

Postoperative complications are the most observed back and low back pain in patients. This type of complication makes it difficult for the patient to choose epidural anesthesia next time.

Headache

The most observed complication during the operation is headache in the world. The reason is that the epidural spinal combination method is used by the anesthesiologist because of the low success rate of epidural anesthesia.

Processing Time

If epidural anesthesia cannot be performed during the operation, usually the spinal method is preferred. This method has a high rate of complication observation, which increases both treatment time and duration of hospitalization.

Permanent Neurological Injury

Generally, it is the least observed in all complications. But nowadays, the number of people who are exposed to a non-compensatory neurological injury due to false epidural anesthesia is not at all low.

Epidural anesthesia is an application that puts the patient's body at less risk than other types of general anesthesia. When I first heard of the project, I said that we thought about 10 years ago but we couldn't do it due to the conditions of that day. With the support they receive today, friends will realize the dream of both their own and anesthesiologists.

They consulted me for the hardware part. With the competition they won in the university, they increased their confidence and brought them to today. I will continue my support as friends and advisors.

Paralysis cases can be observed after anesthesia operations. In these cases, the patient has to live in need of someone else throughout his life. Thanks to the device that my son and his partner will develop together, I hope that this type of cases will decrease.

I've been talking about how the process is and what the risks are. My generation does not prefer epidural anesthesia for complications in this application. Thanks to this project, every anesthesiologist will be able to practice safely.
